A role for Cyr61 as a prognostic biomarker has been suggested by some investigators based on data showing that Cyr61 improved risk stratification for all-cause mortality in patients with acute coronary syndromes when added to the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) risk score at 30 days and 1 year26 and that Cyr61 levels were predictive of 6-month mortality in patients with acute heart failure36.
