We found that addition of both Gal-1 and Gal-3 significantly increase the intracellular bacterial load (Figure 3 A, B), till the cells reach a maximum cell infection, which was achieved with 16 ng/ml (Figure 3a) and 1.2–2 ng/ml (Figure 3b) of Gal-1 and Gal-3, respectively. Here, LGALS3 is linked to infection.
