In the multivariate logistic regression analysis for factors associated with complicated AD, male sex (OR 1.73, 95% CI 1.29–2.32, p < 0.001), constipation (OR 1.95, 95% CI 1.26–2.91, p = 0.002), Hb levels < 11.9 g/dL (OR 2.40, 95% CI 1.74–3.32, p < 0.001), CRP > 80 mg/mL (OR 1.84, 95% CI 1.32–2.57, p < 0.001), obesity (OR 1.022, 95% CI 0.92–0.95, p < 0.0001), and not being on PPI (OR 3.94, 95% CI 2.26–6.86, p < 0.0001) remained significantly correlated with complicated AD (Table 2). The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
