GALNS and keloid: Despite some potentially positive changes such as an increase of the elastic fibers content or clinical improvement was observed after the treatment of early HS with chondroitinases in a conventional rabbit ear model [49] and in human keloids [50], respectively, the GAG-reducing approach requires certain caution and further studies as it may result in significant changes of the biomechanical and humoral signaling balance following the release of the growth factors from the GAG-associated depot and redistribution of the mechanical tensions due to displacement of unbound water [44,51].
