To determine if inflammasome proteins are present in NETs present in the clots of patients with AIS, we stained immunohistochemical sections with antibodies against the inflammasome signaling proteins caspase-1 and ASC, as well as citrullinated histone-3 (Cit-3H), a marker of NETs. The gene discussed is CASP1; the disease is androgen insensitivity syndrome.
