A longitudinal study that included 336 adults aged 59–70 years of age, with an average follow-up period of 10.8 years, observed significant associations between higher levels of CRP, higher levels of IL-8, and a lower adiponectin/leptin ratio at baseline and the development of sarcopenia (defined by EGWSOP) at the follow-up visit [18]. Here, CXCL8 is linked to sarcopenia.
