This observation is similar to the results obtained by Puig-Kröger et al.25 using in vitro-polarized human macrophages and in alignment with findings from evaluations of nearly a thousand tumor sections, including 20 different human cancer types, in which FRβ expression on stromal cells (primarily TAMs), correlated positively with cancer stage and the presence of lymph node metastasis34.
