As regulatory T cells (Tregs) play an important role in the establishment of immune tolerance in autoimmune diseases and organ transplantation rejection (Alijotas‐Reig et al, 2014; Hu et al, 2016; Romano et al, 2017), the CD4+ CD25+ Foxp3+ Treg cell populations isolated from superficial cervical lymph nodes (on the surgical side) were examined. This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and autoimmune disease.
