Here, using the Stx2/LPS-induced HUS mouse model, we tested whether the activation of the Nlrp3 inflammasome contributes to the development of Stx2/LPS-induced HUS and evaluated the therapeutic effect of specific Nlrp3 inhibitors in preventing HUS caused by Stx2 as a step of identifying new candidate drugs. The gene discussed is STX2; the disease is hemolytic-uremic syndrome.
