Compared with non-intensive care unit (ICU) patients with COVID-19, increased levels of cytokines, such as interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-7 (IL-7), interleukin-10 (IL-10), and TNF-α, were observed in ICU patients with COVID-19, suggesting the potential pathogenetic role of exuberant cytokine in COVID-19 (3). The gene discussed is IL7; the disease is COVID-19.
