Given our discovery of a jumu-regulated pathway for cell division that involves Myb, polo, and neb in Drosophila, and possible cis-regulatory regions of neb that bind both Jumu and Myb, it was very interesting to find that both mammalian FoxM1 and B-Myb bind to the promoter of the neb ortholog Kif14 and activate its transcription in breast cancer cell lines50,51. The gene discussed is MYBL2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
