AQP11 and cancer: In the context of cancer-directed molecular mechanisms, it will be of particular interest to test a causative involvement of previously identified D2O-targets such as aquaporin 11 (AQP11; identified in activated hepatic stellate cells) and L-type calcium channels (identified in rat thoracic aorta smooth muscle cells) relevant to non-oncological physiological D2O effects such as modulation of blood pressure [10,16,18,19,20,21,22,23,26,47].
