The analysis of MAPk kinases involved in pathological cardiac hypertrophy, ERK1/2 (extracellular signal-regulated kinase), JNK1/2 (c-Jun N-terminal kinase), and p38 (Mitogen-Activated Protein kinase), showed that imine analogs prevent cardiac hypertrophy. The gene discussed is WNK2; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
