eHSP90α is observed to promote prostate fibroblast cell motility and to upregulate markers associated with a CAF-like phenotype, such as vimentin, αSMA, fibroblast activation factor (FAP) and tenascin C. eHSP90α, likely through LRP1 and the activation of NF-κB, induces fibroblasts to secrete inflammatory mediators as IL-6 and IL-8 in prostate cancer [120]. This evidence concerns the gene LRP1 and prostate carcinoma.
