Simultaneous silencing of hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs), HIF-1α and HIF-2α, has been shown to inhibit low-glucose induced PCK2 expression in normoxia [71], on the other hand, hypoxia reduced PCK2 protein in lung cancer cells [90], and PCK2 was found to be inversely correlated with the hypoxia-induced glucose transporter GLUT1 in human lung cancers [90]. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and lung carcinoma.
