Similarly, in a small observational study of 140 patients with diabetes (109 with T1D, 24 with T2D on insulin, and 7 with T2D on non-insulin therapies), rtCGM (STS Dexcom) was associated with a significant reduction in HbA1c by 0.4% in both T1D and T2D over 3 months compared to baseline.34 Those individuals with T2D on non-insulin medications did not have a significant HbA1c reduction, probably due to small sample size. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
