In view of the complexity of angiogenesis, involving so many pro-angiogenic mediators, and rationalizing the failure of anti-VEGF as monotherapy in cancer [35], it is conceivable that affecting angiogenesis at several levels, such as that imposed by ERO1 deficiency, is more effective than the impairment of only one mediator for the treatment of breast tumors and their metastases.
