Compared to that of BPH, the intensity of HOXB13 staining was greater in adenocarcinomas with Gleason scores of 7, 8, 9, and 10 albeit not statistically significant, possibly due to the wide variations in H-score observed in both BPH and the adenocarcinomas (Fig. 3J). Here, HOXB13 is linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia.
