Patients with higher hemoglobin tertiles were younger, tended to be more male, with higher level of BMI, TG, LDL-c, Apo B, HbA1C, CS-EPVS and total EPVS, and had higher prevalence of hypercholesterolemia, current smoking and alcohol consumption, but with lower level of HDL-c (P < 0.05). Here, APOB is linked to familial hypercholesterolemia.
