In agreement with recent reports, lentiviral-transduced point mutants of SPOP (SPOP-Y87C, SPOP-W131G) or a truncated version of ERG, which typically results from gene fusion with androgen-regulated genes in prostate cancer (ΔERG, amino acids 33–486), promoted cell growth (Fig. 1b and Supplementary Fig. 1c)13–16. This evidence concerns the gene ERG and prostate cancer.
