Since the emergence of the first study in 1996 on the effects of angiotensin converting enzyme and AT1R gene polymorphism on normal blood pressure and aortic sclerosis in patients with hypertension,[8] there have been a number of studies to explore the relationship between AGTR1 A1166C polymorphism and arteriosclerosis.[2,9,10] However, due to differences in sample size, test efficiency, gene or environmental background, the results are not consistent. This evidence concerns the gene AGTR1 and arteriosclerosis.
