Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) cells with acquired chemoresistance to paclitaxel, cisplatin or SN38 [28], MDR multiple myeloma cell lines [29], MDR uterine sarcoma and breast cancer cell lines (that overexpress ABCB1/MDR1) [33] were found to display higher levels of MET protein expression and phosphorylation than their respective isogenic parental cells. The gene discussed is MET; the disease is breast cancer.
