Systemic inflammation in obese boys was characterized by higher expression of TNF-β (p = 0.011), IL-15 (p = 0.004), and IL-2 (p = 0.046) and significantly lower concentrations of anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-10 (p = 0.035) and IL-13 (p = 0.002), compared to eutrophic males. This evidence concerns the gene IL15 and inflammation.
