GFPT1 and neoplasm: Demonstrating high GFPT1 expression as an independent prognostic factor, we believe, may provide new insights in the predicting of outcome of PDAC because conventional prognostic factors such as tumor differentiation, tumor size, and LN involvement fail to take account of the essential molecular and cellular mechanisms during the oncogenesis and progression of PDAC, while GFPT1 expression, to a certain extent, reflects the flux of HBP pathway, which integrates glutamine and glucose metabolism and plays crucial roles in tumor progression.
