Greife et al. reported epigenetic silencing across the DLK1-DIO3 imprinted gene cluster due to aberrant epigenetic regulation (i.e., unique changes in DNA methylation and repressive histone modifications), which resulted in the simultaneous downregulation of oppositely expressed and imprinted genes of the region in urothelial carcinoma [83]. This evidence concerns the gene DLK1 and urothelial carcinoma.
