Tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) including cytotoxic CD8+ T effector (Teff) cells are recruited to the ovarian tumour by expression of chemokines such as CXCL10 in a CXCR3-mediated manner and facilitate antitumour immune responses by producing interferon (IFN)-γ and by releasing the content of cytolytic granules for the direct elimination of cancer cells [7]. The gene discussed is CXCR3; the disease is ovarian neoplasm.
