The regulation of receptor internalization seems to be a role common to the Ena/VASP family members as the silencing of also Mena impaired the clathrin‐mediated endocytosis of the EGF receptor in HeLa cells, which may account for its role in EGF‐dependent breast cancer invasion and metastasis (Philippar et al, 2008; Vehlow et al, 2013). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and breast carcinoma.
