In MDA-MB-231 cell lines, it has been reported that overexpression of Orai1, as well as calcium–calmodulin-activated adenylyl cyclase type 8 (which interacts at phosphorylation sites), prevents the inactivation of Orai1, increasing calcium signaling and promoting cancer cell migration (Sanchez-Collado et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene ORAI1 and cancer.
