In human glioma, the expression of transient receptor potential canonical 6 (TRPC6), known as a channel protein (Nishida et al., 2015), is upregulated and the inhibition of its expression or activities by RNAi or the dominant-negative form of TRPC6 (DNC6) suppresses glioma cell proliferation and glioma development (Ding et al., 2010). Here, TRPC6 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
