In all the 40 × microscopic fields chosen for analysis, almost 100% of the hGFs were CYP27B1 positive and the CYP27B1 staining scores of hGFs of patients with periodontitis (2.49 ±0.08) were significantly higher than those of controls (1.84 ±0.12) (Fig. 4B). Here, CYP27B1 is linked to periodontitis.
