Neuromedin U (NMU) has been reported to exhibit early alterations associated with cancer, including lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, renal cancer, and endometrioid endometrial carcinoma, through promoting migration, invasion, glycolysis, a mesenchymal phenotype, a stem cell phenotype of cancer cells, and resistance to the antitumor immune response [116–118]. The gene discussed is NMU; the disease is lung cancer.
