A recent research indicates that IFI16 positively regulates programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) in cervical cancer cells by activating the STING-TBK1-NF-κB pathway, which can interact with the proximal region of the PD-L1 promoter to facilitate PD-L1 expression, and promoting the progression of cervical cancer (42). This evidence concerns the gene STING1 and cervical carcinoma.
