Among the transcription factors binding to almost all individual enhancers were YY1, a largely pro‐tumorigenic transcription factor in colon cancer (Sarvagalla et al, 2019), SP1, which has a significant role in colorectal cancer development and progression (Bajpai & Nagaraju, 2017), and TCF7l2, which plays a key role in the Wnt signaling pathway and is activated in most colorectal cancers (Bienz & Clevers, 2000) (Fig 4E). This evidence concerns the gene TCF7L2 and malignant colon neoplasm.
