IKZF1 and Miyoshi myopathy: Although these findings highlight the relevant role for IRF4 in driving the pro-survival and proliferative activity of IKZF TFs in MM cells, a recent study also demonstrated that enforced IRF4 expression failed to rescue cell viability after Ikaros inactivation, thus indicating that multiple mechanisms may concur in causing MM cell death in the absence of IKZF TFs [38].
