The digestion of abalone intestine with an in vitro gastrointestinal (GI) digestion system resulted in the identification of two peptides with anti-MMP-2 and anti-MMP-9 activity in human fibrosarcoma cells (HT1080 cells) (Table 1), namely abalone oligopeptide (AOP) and abalone anti-tumor peptide (AATP).
