Regarding co-segregation and LOH studies, in a previous publication by our group, we reported the results of the co-segregation of family 16 [29]: the proband’s mother, diagnosed with BC, as well as the sister and the maternal cousin, both affected by BC, had the same BARD1 variant; the variant was also found in the proband’s 39-year-old daughter, although she was asymptomatic. Here, BARD1 is linked to breast cancer.
