In the study of Mirza et al., the levels of DNMT1, DNMT3A, and DNMT3B mRNA were observed to be 1.2- to 4.4-folds, 1.1- to 3.77-folds, and 1.06- to 4.01-folds elevated in the most of the analyzed breast cancer tissues, respectively, as compared to the adjacent normal breast tissues [59]. The gene discussed is DNMT3B; the disease is breast cancer.
