Accordingly, Twist1, one of the master regulators of the EMT process, has been found to be associated with vascular mimicry, through the upregulation of vascular-endothelial cadherins (VE-cadherins), in different tumors, such as breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, colon cancer, so that the phenomenon can be called “epithelial-to-endothelial transition” [184,193,194,195].
