ZEB2 and colorectal carcinoma: Particularly, slow-cycling CRC CSCs are characterized by high expression levels of the transcription factor Zeb2, together with a mesenchymal-like phenotype; moreover, Zeb2 has been demonstrated to be directly involved in the upregulation of the antiapoptotic factors pCRAF and pASK1, promoting chemoresistance and the further enrichment of the CSC population in mouse models.
