Quercetin caused protective autophagy and apoptosis in gastric cancer cells by blocking the phosphorylation of Akt, mTOR, and downstream of p70 S6K (S424/T421) and 4E-BP1 (S65/T70), accumulating hypoxia-induced factor 1α (HIF-1α), which enhanced BNIP3/BNIP3L to disrupt the interaction of Beclin 1 with Bcl-2/Bcl-xL [73]. Here, MTOR is linked to gastric cancer.
