Autophagy is affected by regulation of the G1/S phase protein, G2/M phase protein, and M phase protein: CDK4 and CDK6 regulate the PI3K/AKT-AMPK signal pathway to inhibit autophagy; CDK2, CDKL3, and Aurora A inhibit the autophagy of many kinds of cancer cells by activating the activity of mTOR, resulting in cell death or a higher chemosensitivity; and the activation of p53 and CKIs (p16, p21, and p27) was observed at multiple checkpoints of the cell cycle, which induce autophagy and control tumor cell death by regulating specific CDK-cyclin complexes [112,113]. This evidence concerns the gene CDK4 and cancer.
