FAAH and Anxiety: Increasing anandamide levels via chemical inhibition of its catabolic enzyme fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) (Kathuria et al., 2003) or the deletion of FAAH (Moreira et al., 2008) resulted in phenotypes with behavioural aberrations including decreased anxiety‐like behaviour, as we observed in the present tests with SGIP1−/− mice.
