Statistical analyses revealed that higher positive expression of eIF4E (P = 0.008) was found in the advanced (III/IV) stage than the early (I/II) stage, and patients with cervical lymph node metastasis had higher expression of eIF4E (P < 0.001) and cyclin D1 (P = 0.033) than those without lymph node metastasis. This evidence concerns the gene EIF4E and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
