One study showed that POSTN promotes cell proliferation and macrophage polarization to drive tissue repair after acute kidney injury (Kormann et al., 2020), and POSTN was found to contribute to renal and cardiac dysfunction in rats with chronic kidney disease (CKD) (Prakoura and Chatziantoniou, 2017; Bian et al., 2019b). This evidence concerns the gene POSTN and chronic kidney disease.
