Of note, a sub-analysis of monocyte subsets on 16 patients, including 6 SMM and 10 MM patients, revealed, for the first time, that CD14+CD16+ cells express PD-L1 at higher intensity compared with classical monocytes CD14+CD16− (median PD-L1 MFI, 23.09 vs. 17.41, Wilcoxon test, p < 0.0001) (Figure 2A), independently from the stage of disease. The gene discussed is CD14; the disease is Miyoshi myopathy.
