Given that MCPIP-1, which is known to be an endonuclease, degrades the mRNA levels of proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α) in macrophages, we asked whether MCPIP-1 could degrade the mRNA expression of proinflammatory cytokines in IBD neutrophils.
