Considering the fact that the presented cell lines differ substantially in the basal level of E-cadherin and N-cadherin expression (as described above), the site of their origin, and their resistance to cisplatin, it may be suggested that the involvement of ERK 1/2 proteins in the regulation of SNAIL 1 and SNAIL 2 expression is tightly related to EMT marker level and the intrinsic resistance of ovarian cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents.
