Primary myelofibrosis (PMF), known as a clonal stem cell disorder, is a chronic myeloproliferative syndrome representing the rarest and most complex of all BCR-ABL-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of neoplastic hematological diseases comprising essential thrombocythemia (ET) and polycythemia vera (PV). Here, ABL1 is linked to acquired polycythemia vera.
