The last 5 decades has been characterized by discovery several biomarkers for diagnosis of HCC, including the α-fetoprotein (AFP), AFP-L3 (a heteroplast of AFP), des-γ-carboxyprothrombin (DCP), α-L-fucosidase (AFU), golgi protein 73 (GP73), osteopontin (OPN) and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), which is globally regarded as diagnostic serological biomarkers for diagnosis of HCC patients. This evidence concerns the gene GOLM1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
