In MS patients, TNF levels in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) are associated with disease activity in patients (Sharief and Hentges, 1991; Carrieri et al., 1998), and in the mouse model of MS (experimental autoimmune encephalitis, EAE) TNF promotes disease (Ruddle et al., 1990; Baker et al., 1994; Eugster et al., 1998; Gao et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and myeloid sarcoma.
