Interestingly, while ACE2 activity was increased in men in the hypertensive population (male: 29 ± 15, n = 301; female: 19 ± 9 mU/L, n = 239, P < 0.01) such statistical difference was missing in the AS group (male: 115 ± 60, n = 43; female: 97 ± 54 mU/L, n = 67, P > 0.05, values are mean ± SD). This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and aortic valve stenosis.
