In addition to Cyp51, LKO, and Glmp KO, the fibrotic phenotype also develops in the liver knockout of a notch signaling pathway repressor Rbpj (recombination signal binding protein for immunoglobulin kappa J region) due to impaired bile duct maturation causing obstructive bile acid flow, accumulation of bile acids, necrosis, and severe cholestasis with progression to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) [14].
